186 - Organise Your Drive

Chris and Sean are back and trying to catch up with Google updates. Drive has new updates to make organization easier, Calendar has added more holidays as well as suggestions on the mobile version. Google now has a billion Gmail users and is valued as the world's most valuable publicly traded company. Commenting has gotten easier in Docs and Slides, a few great extensions, and an update for the Classroom iOS app.

185 - You Can’t Escape the Awesome Power of the Lightsaber

The gang is joined by special guest listener, Chris Fitzgerald, from the Kimberly Area School District. We cover a bunch of updates Google has released in the past couple weeks including new features for Google Classroom, better searching in Google Drive, and language features in Google Sheets. Kim celebrates the end of the year early with Youtube Rewind and celebrates Star Wars: The Force Awakens by demoing an awesome Lightsaber Chrome experiment. Chris wants Santa to bring him a Pixel C for under the tree. Chris Fitzgerald shows a cool add-on for Google Docs to improve writing, as well as how his students are using Google Tour Builder to study glaciers. We wrap up with EdPuzzle that has recently added Google Classroom integration.

184 - Google pushes Immersive Reality

Bug fixes and a few features for Docs, Play Books, Classroom, and Hangouts for iOS. A whole slew of Google Drive tips, awesome indoor exploring ideas and fabulous new Cultural Institute offerings for exploring the performing arts. And the best news of all? The Google Teacher Academy (or whatever it’s called now) is opening for new applications! Go!

Google launches new update for Google+, interesting insights into a nation wide study on views towards Computer Science, how to force a copy when sharing Docs as well as getting notifications when a file inside a folder is changed. Great classroom applications for 4D anatomy, easily grading using rubrics in Docs, and how to collaborate for creating music!

182 - The Google Educast? There's An App For That

Lots of good new sharing options happening for Google Classroom including Forms, OpenEd, and the Cultural Institute. Doodle for Google Details, ad-free YouTube options (with added benefits!) and Juan shares some easy ways to develop your own Chrome Web App. Fred shines the spotlight on some great story apps.

181 - Storming a Burning Building

This week on the Educast join Juan and Chris as they look at some of the latest news from Google, with new options in Sheets and iOS. Juan shows a neat trick for sharing the screen on his Android phone, and we’re happy to hear Google is doing its best to keep teens safe in Google+. Photos recognizes Chris’s grandmother and friends with some amazing technology! Chris also shares some window-resizing tricks on the Chromebook, and gets us a even more excited about Expeditions!

Kim shares how to protect your Chromebook. We share how to embed your new Google Classroom Calendar as well as giving parents access to your Google Classroom. Chris was on the front lines of Google Expedition announcement and shares his first impressions.

Kim & Juan are back to discuss a new addition to Google Streetview and scheduled updates in Google Apps. Android had a big week with new functionality in the mobile versions of Slides and Sheets, an update to our favorite coffee app and a leak of about the new devices that you can expect on September 29th, which prompted Kim’s internal struggle.
